2024 Board Member Elections

Membership will elect three members to our board of directors at our 2024 Annual Meeting on April 24. This year, Randal Anderson*, Kathleen Farnsworth-Cubit, and Matthew Scheetz* are running (*denotes incumbent). There will be no nominations from the floor.

Members 18 and older are eligible to vote for up to three candidates at our 2024 Annual Meeting. If you are unable to attend, absentee ballots are available at our credit union office and must be received by April 19.

Here are brief biographies of this year’s candidates:

  • “I have lived most of my life around the Des Moines metro area. I am a veteran, having served overseas during Desert Storm. After the military and college, I worked as a Sr. Programmer/Analyst for over 30 years. I have been a member of Capitol View Credit Union for 33 years and have been proud to serve on the board. I’ve learned a lot in the process and would be more than happy to continue to serve on the board of the credit union that has been so good to me over the years.”-Randal Anderson

  • “I am a 36-year veteran of the state of Iowa and retired from state government employment in January 2022. I appreciated all the benefits that state employment provided to me during my time working as an IT professional and doubly appreciate the opportunity to retire with a pension. As a state employee, I joined Capitol View Credit Union in 2013 and immediately enjoyed the benefits of a credit union dedicated to state of Iowa employees. Over the years, Capitol View has helped me realize many financial goals. As a member of the Capitol View Credit Union, I understand the importance of growing our membership and providing financial advice and knowledge to our members. As a Capitol View board member, my goal is to learn how to grow and improve our credit union to benefit our members both current and future.”-Kathleen Farnsworth-Cubit

  • “I was first elected to the Capitol View Credit Union board in 2021 and have been the Audit Committee Chair since 2022. I have enjoyed working with the Capitol View staff and the other board members during my tenure and would be proud to continue serving our members. I am currently employed by the Iowa Department of Revenue in the Tax Management Division. Before my time with the State of Iowa, I worked for over 5 years with US Bank. I live in Urbandale with my wife, daughter, and two big dogs. Thank you for your consideration.”-Matthew Scheetz
