The board of directors and staff of Capitol View Credit Union are excited to announce we opened our new, free-standing building this April.

The board of directors and staff of Capitol View are all very excited about our move into our own building. In addition to all of the exciting new opportunities this will bring with it, there may be some questions members would like insight into. Here are a few answers to some of the common questions we’ve received:

  • Will there be new operating hours?
    • Yes. To better accommodate membership our office will be open until 5pm each weeknight. The drive-through will be open 8am-5pm M-F. The lobby will be open 9am-5pm M-F.
  • Will the office be open on Saturdays?
    • No. While weekend hours were considered, we do not currently have the demand or staffing to offer weekend hours at this time. However, that may change in the future depending on growth and demand.
  • Will the current office in the IWD building remain open?
    • No. Due to the staffing requirements of the new building we will not keep the 1000 E. Grand Avenue location open following the move.
  • Does the credit union plan to become a community charter with this move?
    • No. Capitol View prides itself on serving state employees and their families exclusively. There are no plans to change our field of membership with this move.
  • What were some of the deciding factors behind the move?
    • While there were many important factors that went into the decision to move our offices, space and longevity were two of the deciding factors.
      Since 2010, Capitol View’s assets have grown by over 38% and loans have grown by over 16%. It’s impressive to note this growth was accomplished while operating within an 800 sq. foot office. Our new building will offer much needed space.
      In addition to space, longevity was a major concern. Our current location within the IWD building lobby is not secured under contract. Given that fact our board was committed to finding a more permanent location that provides long-term security.
